Advanced Clustering Updates Pinnacle Servers with New Intel Xeon Processor Family

Advanced Clustering Technologies is pleased to announce the newest addition to its Pinnacle and Horizon line of servers and workstations. Built on the latest Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 “Haswell” processors, these new models include Advanced Clustering’s innovative half-width blade, 2U, 3U, and 4U servers, all designed to showcase the performance gains of this new generation of CPUs from Intel.

“Intel has again delivered a CPU that we are excited to include within our cluster's lineup of innovative servers. The new Intel Xeon E5 v3 chips offer significant performance improvements over the previous generation of Ivy Bridge Xeon processors,” said Kyle Sheumaker, CTO of Advanced Clustering Technologies. “As an Intel Platinum Provider, we had advance access to these latest chips and were able to see these performance gains from the previous generation, including a doubling of floating point performance, a 25% increase in memory bandwidth, a 20% increase in intra-processor communications, and support for 2133MHz DDR4 memory.”

Advanced Clustering is expecting to see a significant surge in demand for its servers and workstations as the performance gains expected will benefit its high performance computing customers. Leading this increase in demand is the 50% increase in core count, faster clock speeds, inclusion of either 56Gb/s FDR Infiniband or 10/40Gb/s Ethernet, improved memory capacity and energy efficiency.
