Mellanox CloudX Platform Now Supported with Oracle OpenStack for Oracle Linux

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. today announced that its CloudX reference architecture for building efficient cloud platforms is now supported with Oracle OpenStack for Oracle Linux, in addition to Oracle VM. The solution helps improve compute and storage infrastructure efficiency, enable applications to process vast amounts of data in real-time, and accelerate business analytics and decision making. CloudX is based on the Mellanox OpenCloud architecture which leverages off-the-shelf servers, storage, together with Mellanox high-efficiency interconnects and Oracle OpenStack for Oracle Linux software to form flexible and cost-effective public, private and hybrid clouds.

CloudX enables virtualization solutions with the highest bandwidth and lowest latency while helping to reduce costs. Built around Mellanox's 40/56Gb/s Ethernet interconnect technology, CloudX provides fast data transfer and effective utilization of compute, storage and Flash SSD components.

"Utilizing Mellanox's CloudX platform with Oracle OpenStack for Oracle Linux, cloud operators can reduce their capital and operational expenses through more efficient use of compute and storage resources," said Kevin Deierling, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. "Through the performance and efficiency of CloudX, users benefit from optimal cloud application performance for e-commerce, transaction processing, business analytics, Big Data, and storage-centric workloads."
