NexentaConnect for VMware Virtual SAN provides full featured file services designed around VMware EVO: RAIL and VMware Virtual SAN. VMware EVO: RAIL combines VMware compute, networking, and storage resources into a hyper-converged infrastructure appliance to create a simple, easy to deploy, all-in-one solution offered by our partners. Built directly into the VMware vSphere kernel, VMware Virtual SAN delivers a new tier of storage built from the ground up specifically for virtual machines. Taking advantage of the VM-level storage policies, VMware Virtual SAN matches business needs with underlying storage resources. Customers can consume VMware Virtual SAN by selecting components from the hardware compatibility list, relying on pre-configured Ready Node servers or by purchasing the EVO: RAIL appliance.

“Working closely with Supermicro and VMware, we have created integrated and hyper-converged offerings that extend the functionality of Supermicro Virtual SAN Ready Nodes and the new EVO: RAIL appliance to a broader range of use cases,” said Phil Underwood, COO at Nexenta. "NexentaConnect for VMware Virtual SAN supports our goal of helping enterprises unlock the potential of their storage and ultimately their data centers.”
