AMAX Introduces ServMax OCS Based on Version 2 Specifications

AMAX today introduces the ServMax Open CloudServer (OCS) datacenter solution based on the latest Microsoft Open CloudServer (OCS) version 2 specifications.

AMAX's ServMax Open CloudServer (OCS) is an innovative solution for running business applications that are built to integrate compute, storage, and networking functionality with technology exchange and heterogeneous management. It offers modularity, simplicity, high power efficiency, operational agility, high availability, and high scalability to datacenter customers throughout the world in a standard 19-inch rack. AMAX's ServMax OCS solution integrates compute nodes and storage nodes in an easy-to-use turnkey package that is designed specifically for faster performance and greater flexibility, and also for the office and distributed enterprise environment.

AMAX's OCS solution holds up to 24 compute and storage blades in any combination to serve specific computing requirements within a 12U chassis and integrated with an out of band management module. This unique solution centralizes the high efficiency power suppliers (5+1 redundancy) for up to a pool of 9.6K watt power source, and utilizes large fan walls to reach the operational efficiency beyond the capability of conventional servers currently available in the market.

AMAX's OCS solution offers two different types of nodes -- an OCS compute node and an OCS JBOD storage node. The OCS compute node supports the latest Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processor family to provide unprecedented computing performance. With up to eight hard disks (four 3.5" and four 2.5"), plus four M.2 SSD module slots, AMAX's OCS compute node provides astonishing compute and storage integration that is incredibly easy-to-use. AMAX's OCS JBOD storage node supports up to ten 3.5" fixed hard disk drives with the highest storage density in a 1/2U architecture, is ideal for big data analytics applications such as Hadoop as well as cloud and distributed software applications.

In addition, with 10GbE or 40GbE network interconnectivity, AMAX's OCS solution increases data transfer speed and efficiency across blade servers and networks. The shared single compute/storage tray backplane design and pre-configured rear cables function the same as the blade mid plane to help reduce service complexity and allow enterprise businesses to run mission critical applications. AMAX's OCS chassis manager software presents a consistent, optimized interface for the complete rack infrastructure, including the in-band and out-of-band (OOB) management paths.
