Plexxi Switch Now Certified on Cloudera Enterprise 5
Plexxi today announced the certification of the Plexxi Switch with Cloudera's Enterprise 5 platform. Cloudera's data management platform enables enterprises to use Apache's open source Hadoop software to better manage their data.
The Plexxi Switch, now a Cloudera-certified hardware technology, is the first SDN-based Ethernet switch and the only truly single-tier, scale-out networking solution. The Plexxi Switch integrates the power and flexibility of high-density Ethernet and optical switching technology to create rich-bandwidth, low-latency and adaptable networks for clouds and dynamic data centers.
"Reliance on the enterprise data hub will increase dramatically over the next few years, increasing the dependency on the network infrastructure to provide dynamic server-to-server and server-to-storage connectivity," said Mat Mathews, co-founder and vice president of product management, Plexxi. "The integration of the Plexxi Switch and Cloudera Enterprise 5 will provide the tools to manage network resources from a single viewpoint, improving overall network function."
