Bright Computing to Release Update to OpenStack Management Software

Bright Computing, the leading provider of hardware-agnostic cluster and cloud management software, announces that it will release the newest version of its OpenStack management software at the OpenStack Summit in Vancouver. The summit will take place May 18-22, 2015 at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia.

“As OpenStack users ourselves, we understand the challenges people face when implementing private clouds. Based on our own experiences, this update to the OpenStack offering of our world-class management software creates a new, fine-tuned solution that makes life a great deal easier for our OpenStack customers,” said Lionel Gibbons, Vice President of Marketing at Bright Computing. “Enhancements to the Bright installation wizard for OpenStack, in particular, make it even easier to deploy a fully functional private cloud from bare metal.”

Version 7.1 of Bright’s software includes enhancements to the installation wizard, Ceph-based storage infrastructure, and more. The new version also stabilizes operations and management, ensuring that the deployment and use of an OpenStack cloud is as simple as any other private cloud option.

“We know that the improved ease of use in Bright Cluster Manager 7.1 will be welcome news to our OpenStack customers, who are working hard to configure and manage their private clouds,” he added.

More information about the Bright OpenStack management software will be available after the new version’s release at the OpenStack Summit in Vancouver. Bright Computing is a member of the OpenStack Foundation and a supporting organization for the OpenStack Summit, a five-day conference for developers, users, and administrators of OpenStack Cloud Software.
