Fujitsu Unveils New PRIMEQUEST and PRIMERGY Systems

With the needs of modern financial and telecommunications companies, and big data processing in mind, Fujitsu today introduces the new FUJITSU Server PRIMEQUEST 2000 series second generation line up of high-end servers that offer oustanding x86 performance and memory expandability. Mission-critical functionalities help ensure business continuity, with uptime levels equivalent to those of UNIX/mainframe systems – but with the cost advantages of an x86-based architecture. Fujitsu also delivers today the platform of choice for business-critical back-end services – offering superior levels of performance, memory capacity and reliability – with the introduction of the FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX4770 M2.

Many organizations are looking for simpler and smarter ways to transform their ICT into powerful business-intelligent solutions, and are widely adopting applications that use in-memory technology, such as the SAP HANA platform. Straight from the launch of the new Intel Xeon Processor E7 v3 Product Family, all three models of the new PRIMEQUEST 2000 series and the PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 are certified by SAP to run SAP HANA in single node configurations. This early certification was achieved by Fujitsu thanks to more than 40 years of expertise in SAP solutions and underlines Fujitsu’s aspiration to empower customers to achieve their business objectives.

In conjunction with Fujitsu’s highly specialized global solutions and services, and one of the industry’s widest ranges of data center and integrated systems, Fujtsu is an ideal partner to support enterprises on their digital transformation journey – to put Human Centric Innovation in action.

PRIMEQUEST 2000 series combines UNIX-matching high-availability features with x86 cost efficiency

Fujitsu delivers a rock-solid data center infrastructure platform with the PRIMEQUEST 2000 series, which is already known for record-breaking levels of performance and system resilience. New to the second generation are extended self-healing advanced Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) components, including Dynamic Reconfiguration and Extended Partitioning; resilience in DDR4 memory; and the new processors of the Intel Xeon Processor E7 v3 Family. The new PRIMEQUEST line-up revolutionizes critical-workload processing with extra-large memory capacities of up to 12TB.The quad-socket PRIMEQUEST 2400E2 and eight-socket PRIMEQUEST 2800E2 are best suited to mission-critical computing, where downtime is not an option. They offer an attractive alternative to businesses that want to migrate to a x86 platform without losing the reliability of current UNIX/mainframe systems.

In comparison, the eight-socket PRIMEQUEST 2800B2 model is ideally suited to handle more memory-intensive applications like in-memory computing and SAP HANA, while giving cost-efficiency and peace-of-mind for business-critical security levels.

Fujitsu also offers enterprise customers turnkey professional services to make migration from legacy systems a simple and trouble-free path – with the Fujitsu Global Delivery Center network able to remotely manage and monitor installations around the clock.

Hans-Dieter Wysuwa, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Product Business, Fujitsu said: “The data center market is witnessing revolutionary times. The new generation PRIMEQUEST family helps companies processing huge amounts of mission-critical data to embrace the benefits of the data explosion while enabling business continuity. These ambidextrous, rack-optimized enterprise systems make UNIX/Mainframe available on an x86 platform providing the intelligent backbone that enables Fujitsu customers to deliver 24/7 service to their customers.”

Addressing the megatrends with PRIMERGY RX4770 M2

A hyperconnected world is driving a new industrial revolution. However, for many data centers, IT infrastructure and operations are reaching a breaking point. Designed for business-critical back-end services, the quad-socket PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 is equipped with the latest of the Intel Xeon Processor E7 v3 Family available with up to 72 cores, plus up to 6TB super-fast DDR4 main memory. The PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 delivers state-of-the-art management capabilities with the new integrated Remote Management Controller (iRMC S4), offering a variety of user-friendly functions to help ensure a faster and more cost-effective infrastructure management, no matter where the server is located. This quad-socket x86 server offers breakthrough performance, rock-solid reliability, and compelling consolidation and manageability efficiencies.

Hans-Dieter Wysuwa adds: “Fujitsu offers one of the widest ranges of data center and integrated systems, and the FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 is the flagship of the PRIMERGY server family. It achieves a new level of compute performance to deliver more efficient business results. It handles complex, data-intensive workloads such as in-memory databases and real-time business analytics with greater ease even than the previous high-end generation.”

The features of the PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 make it an exceptional platform for running demanding and data-intensive databases, applications, and business intelligence (BI) workloads. In addition, it substantially simplifies carrying out infrastructure-related tasks such as server virtualization at a price point that also makes it attractive for consolidation projects. This allows companies to boost their data center while reducing operational expenses by up to 48 percent as well as a 2:1 consolidation ratio compared to a quad-socket system with typical working period.
