Nallatech Introduces 385A

CAMARILLO, Calif., June 18 -- Nallatech, a leading supplier of high-performance FPGA solutions, announces the introduction of the 385A - a production-ready, server-qualified FPGA card capable of accelerating a new generation of energy-efficient datacenter applications.

The 385A is a half-height, half-length PCIe Gen 3 card featuring Altera’s new floating-point enabled Arria 10 FPGA family capable of delivering 1.5 Peak TFlops of floating point performance. Two independent banks of SDRAM memory and dual QSFP+ network ports complete the balanced architecture capable of both co-processing and latency-critical 1G/10G/40G streaming applications.

The 385A will be delivered with an optimized Board Support Package compatible with the Altera Software Development Kit (SDK) for OpenCL. This allows the card to be programmed at a high level of abstraction by customers unfamiliar with traditional FPGA hardware-based tool flows.

“Intel’s acquisition of Altera marks a dramatic new chapter in the high performance computing Industry with FPGAs destined to play a key role” said Allan Cantle, president and founder of Nallatech. “FPGAs are no longer just a curiosity to be benchmarked. Major companies such as Microsoft and IBM are deploying high volumes of FPGAs in production systems where a step-change in both application performance and energy-efficiency are needed, but cannot be realized using only CPU plus GPU configurations. The 385A is the ideal product for customers wanting to cost-effectively add FPGA fabric to their data center.”
