Viking Technology ArxCis-NV Validated on Supermicro Server Platforms

SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 25 -- Viking Technology, a division of Sanmina Corporation, and leading global provider of innovative DRAM and solid state drive (SSD) solutions, today announces the testing and validation of its ArxCis-NV, a DDR4 Non-Volatile DIMM (NVDIMM), by Supermicro for integration in its SuperServer platforms. This validation enables customers using Supermicro platforms to have access to next generation DDR4 NVDIMM technology, built for persistent memory in case of power-failure.

Viking Technology has been instrumental in driving the ecosystem to support NVDIMM technology. The validation of the ArxCis-NV on Supermicro platforms will expand the use of this technology among enterprise Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Datacenters and Hyperscale computing environments. This technology collaboration enables architectural and performance improvements in many of the applications shaping today's IT infrastructure, including storage, server virtualization, business analytics and social media.

"Viking has always been a great advocate of NVDIMM technology and believes it is a critical path to true persistent memory," said Hamid Shokrgozar, President, Viking Technology. "The validation with Supermicro is just the beginning of wide spread adoption of NVDIMMs in the Enterprise market. We will continue to see more and more OEMs delivering systems using NVDIMMs in the months to come."

"Supermicro Enterprise-class server and storage platforms, optimized for DDR4 NVDIMM technology, deliver maximum performance, efficiency, and reliability for the most data sensitive, mission-critical applications," said Don Clegg, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Supermicro. "Validation of Viking's ArxCis-NV across our X10 motherboards and systems extends the industry's widest range of server and storage solutions with benefits of fastest I/O performance and additional layers of protection to safeguard cached data and minimize service disruptions."
