Denodo Data Virtualization Certified on HPE Vertica

PALO ALTO, CA, Nov. 1 -- Denodo, the leader in data virtualization, today announced that Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has tested and validated the Denodo Platform for integration with HPE Vertica, the industry’s most advanced SQL database analytics platform. The integration of Denodo’s platform will enable customers to integrate HPE Vertica with the Denodo Platform as either a data source or a high-performance cache, with maximum interoperability and performance. Additionally, customers will be able to build a logical data warehouse architecture, which was identified by Gartner as a best practice.

HPE Vertica is built from the first line of code to address the most demanding big data analytics initiatives and offers interactive, blazing-fast analytics. Leveraging the Denodo Platform, customers can seamlessly integrate data with HPE Vertica from other sources. Denodo also offers advanced capabilities for integrating with Hadoop, web, cloud, and SaaS sources, to expand the reach of analytics in HPE Vertica.

The Denodo Platform enables HPE Vertica users to extend their analytics to other data stores with very high performance. The platform’s Dynamic Query Optimizer applies a cost model that supports HPE´s columnar-based approach and applies push-down optimization techniques, which delegate query processing directly to HPE Vertica, for significant performance enhancements. HPE Vertica can also be used as a high-performance cache in the Denodo Platform, improving performance for frequently accessed reports.

“With our platform’s validation on HPE Vertica and our membership in the HPE Big Data Platform Technology Alliance, Denodo is demonstrating our commitment to providing HPE Vertica customers with the complete benefits of the logical data warehouse,” said Ravi Shankar, CMO at Denodo. “Technical users will be able to make changes much more flexibly, and they will see greater reusability, higher data quality, and improved performance. Governance and security will also be more efficient and effective, since both can be managed from a single point across the entire infrastructure. Business users will experience faster access to a wider variety of data sources, for enhanced BI.”

Denodo is now a member of the HPE Big Data Platform Technology Alliance, which will provide Denodo with the expertise, tools, and information needed to continually improve interoperability with HPE products.

“The testing and validation of the Denodo Platform for integration with HPE Vertica will help our mutual customers realize the potential of a logical data warehouse architecture,” said Chris Selland, VP Business Development, Big Data Platform at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. “The Denodo Platform integrates with HPE Vertica to allow those customers to access databases, NoSQL sources, Hadoop, SaaS and other enterprise applications, as if they’re a single, logical source, and this significantly enhances the customers’ business insight capabilities.”
