TIBCO Unveils Mashery Local 4.0
PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 6 -- TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in integration, API management, and analytics, today announced TIBCO Mashery Local 4.0, its API management solution that now offers support for container-based deployments and improved end-to-end security. The Mashery Local solution's unique approach to managing API traffic on-premises using a hybrid gateway provides the convenience and rapid start-up of a SaaS API solution along with the robust security and flexbility of on-premises API traffic management. The end result is increased security and operational support that helps users define and execute digital transformation programs built around APIs, independent of corporate IT programs.

The Mashery Local solution's hybrid architecture makes it easy to combine multiple Mashery Local gateways running in mixed container and multi-cloud environments, and collectively manage them from a single administrative console. Mashery Local can be deployed to any cloud environment that supports Docker containers, such as Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes or Microsoft Azure. This simplifies API Gateway deployments at the edge of the enterprise, which is closer to the source of many API programs and digital transformation initiatives.
Mashery Local also has enhanced the way security secrets are managed. Customers now have the option of setting up end-to-end encryption via managing trust certificates and identity stores on premises. This approach provides the advantages of SaaS delivery models, with the added flexibility of managing API security as a hybrid implementation of TIBCO Mashery.
