Zettaset Teams Up With Gemalto to Provide Pervasive Security for Big Data Deployments

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 13 -- Zettaset, the leader in Big Data security, today announced that it has teamed up with Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, to provide enhanced, centralized security for big data deployments with the integration of their respective encryption and enterprise key management offerings.

The combination of proven interoperable data encryption, enterprise key management, and HSM (Hardware Security Modules) solutions from Zettaset and Gemalto can turn any big data deployment into a trusted and compliant environment by solving the critical challenges of data governance and control, no matter where data is stored.

Both companies have completed successful interoperability testing of their advanced encryption, key management and crypto management solutions to enhance data privacy and protection of information in in the cloud, virtualized environments and on-premises. The following products are certified for interoperability:

  • Zettaset Big Data Encryption Suite, including BDEncrypt and BDEncrypt Plus -- Provides scalable, high-performance encryption software optimized for distributed big data computing environments, and deployable in Hadoop, NoSQL, and Relational databases.
  • Gemalto's SafeNet Network Attached HSM -- Provides high-assurance protection for encryption keys and is widely used by governments, financial institutions, and large enterprises.
  • Gemalto's SafeNet KeySecure -- Provides centralized key and policy management and is the industry's leading key management platform. By utilizing SafeNet KeySecure, organizations benefit from its flexible options for secure and centralized key management -- deployed in physical, virtualized infrastructure, and cloud environments.

All Zettaset and Gemalto encryption, key management, and HSM products adhere to the OASIS open standards for interoperability. These include the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) and Public Key Cryptography Standard (PKCS) #11. These standards provide better data security while at the same time reducing expenditures on multiple, redundant products.

"Organizations with big data environments that require protection need proven, data-centric security solutions that are interoperable and ensure compatibility no matter where or when they are installed. We are pleased to collaborate with Gemalto to provide our joint customers with advanced standards-based big data encryption solutions that deliver outstanding performance as well as investment protection," said Jim Vogt, Zettaset CEO.

"The collaboration with Zettaset expands our ability to provide pervasive protection of sensitive data in highly distributed big data deployments," said Todd Moore, Vice President for Encryption Product Management at Gemalto. "It is an example of Gemalto's growing ecosystem of data protection partners that allows our customers to leverage best of breed technologies to build unified approaches to data security regardless of where their data is stored, accessed or managed."
