Premio to Showcase High-Performance SDS Solution at SC17

GREATER LOS ANGELES, Calif., Nov. 14, 2017 -- Premio announces plans to showcase a storage solution with the potential to reach 400 Gb/s (40GB/s) with a constant throughput up to “8 Million” IOPS.  This comes at a pivotal time in HPC as the digitization of data is becoming ever so critical for businesses and enterprise level applications alike.

The all-flash software-defined storage solution demo will be on display throughout the show at Intel’s “Channel Pavilion Area” booth #1319. The demo will feature Premio’s patented 2U, 24 bay NVMe U.2 flash storage server (FlacheStreams), which will also highlight the breakthrough performance benefits following the recent launch of Intel® Xeon® Scalable Platform.

“By combining Intel’s Xeon Scalable Processors breakthrough performance with our patented design architecture, we are able to exceed performance boundaries never like before” Andy Lee, Product Manager for Premio said. “We currently plan to push this even further with another design architecture that will potentially have the ability to achieve a staggering 600 Gb/s (60GB/s) all in a 2U form factor.”

In addition to a highly scalable and versatile processor for compute, another critical component for a robust and efficient HPC platform relies heavily on its network fabric. The Premio demo will also feature and highlight the benefits from Mellanox’s ConnectX®-5 Single/Dual-Port Adapters, which can support 100Gb/s. Network adapters can also play a pivotal role in applications that require low latency and high demands on the I/O because they unlock system performance in terms of its overall bandwidth.

“Modern HPC applications must be able to analyze large amounts of data in a very short amount of time,” Motti Beck, Sr. Director Market Development for Mellanox Technologies said. “This requires high performance storage systems that can communicate over high performance networking, which makes ConnectX-5 100Gb/s the ideal network adaptor for today’s high performance data centers.”

Alongside the hardware innovations from Premio, Intel, and Mellanox the collaboration with Excelero’s NVMesh software solution complements the enterprise demo by offering the only virtual SAN approach for shared NVMe on the market today.

“Excelero’s Software-Defined Storage NVMesh enables customers to design Server SAN infrastructures for the most demanding enterprise and cloud-scale applications,” Michael Chazot , VP, Strategic Alliances of Excelero said. “The primary benefit of NVMesh software is that it enables true converged infrastructures by logically disaggregating storage from compute.”

Premio continues to push the boundaries for storage by partnering with innovative leaders like Intel and Excelero to deliver tested and scalable storage solutions today. Many of the storage options in Premio’s portfolio can offer real-world solutions to complex workloads in data-intensive environments like data centers.

SC17 is set to take place from November 13th – 16th at the Colorado Convention Center in downtime Denver. The tradeshow is known as the go-to International Conference for attendees to see the most advanced innovations in the High Performance Computing, networking, and storage industries.
