CSRA Reaches Major milCloud 2.0 Milestone

FALL CHURCH, Va., March 7, 2018 -- As the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) moves to the cloud, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has granted CSRA LLC, a subsidiary of CSRA Inc. (NYSE:CSRA) a Department of Defense Provisional Authorization for Impact Level 5 Systems (DoD PA IL5) to operate milCloud 2.0.

CSRA is excited to unveil both milCloud 2.0’s provisioning portal, which provides users with continuous monitoring of their usage, and its cost estimator, which allows potential users to estimate cloud computing costs in real time.

“We have said since the beginning that milCloud 2.0 is a game-changer,” said CSRA President and CEO Larry Prior.“CSRA is excited to be on this journey with DISA and provide world-class cloud services through milCloud 2.0. DISA has been an excellent partner throughout this process. Through milCloud 2.0, CSRA is providing our warfighters with an ‘easy button’ for cloud acceleration, allowing new flexibility to focus on their mission while saving time, money, and resources.”

“We want to help our DoD customers break through to the next generation of technology,” said Executive Vice President Ken Deutsch, head of CSRA’s Defense Group. “MilCloud 2.0 is another example of how CSRA is ‘Thinking Next. Now’ for our customers. Thanks to DISA’s leadership, our warfighters and their supporting forces can immediately leverage a fully-secure, on-premises commercial cloud service offering.”

By providing CSRA with the DoD PA IL5, DISA has authorized CSRA’s milCloud 2.0 Cloud Service Offering (CSO) to host unclassified national security systems, high-sensitivity systems containing Controlled, Unclassified, Information (CUI), and Mission Critical Information (MCI).

The milCloud 2.0 Phase 1 contract opens new opportunities for innovative technology and solutions providers, who are CSRA subcontractors, to expand their services to DoD. CSRA has partnered with CSRA subcontractors, who are the world’s leading technology companies and developed a strong reputation within the military for quickly and affordably providing solutions. The milCloud 2.0 Phase 1 contract provides a vehicle for the DoD to rapidly acquire and leverage these solutions through a pay-per-use cloud model to include storage, database, security and migration services, and more.

MilCloud 2.0 also provides a much lower total cost of ownership, allowing DoD to consolidate their computer infrastructure through the “as a service model.” This will engender greater efficiencies for on-boarding DoD consumers, reduce cost, increase the efficiency of computing platforms, and increase the overall IT security posture of federal agencies.

CSRA was awarded the milCloud 2.0 Phase 1 contract in June of 2017. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract contains a three-year base period that will run through June 8, 2020, followed by five one-year options with a $498 million ceiling. Under the contract, CSRA is providing DoD with a private cloud infrastructure and leveraging existing economies of scale through the company’s FedRAMP High offering ARC-P.
